funs Jack Antonoff Says Bridge School Benefit Was Highlight of 2013; Talks Next Album

For fun., 2013 was filled with highlights: they won two Grammys in February, for example. But the band's Jack Antonoff says his personal highlight of the past 12 months was playing the 27th edition ofNeil Young's annual Bridge School Benefit Concert this past October.

“It was an amazing benefit in Northern California, and that was — among the things that I’d really dreamed about doing — that was right there at the top,” he tells ABC News Radio. “To share the stage with the people that inspired me to make music in the first place was a very surreal experience.”

Looking to the future, Antonoff isn’t quite sure when fun. will be making their next album, noting the guys will put out their follow-up to 2012’s Some Nights only when they feel the time is right.

“We’re taking a second…I think that we’ve never done anything outside of the pressure that we put on ourselves, and…just because our last album was more successful than the one before,” he explains. “I think the one thing that we’re positive about is not to change the process, not to…mess with anything artistic.”

Antonoff adds that once the guys have all the songs written for the next album, you can expect they’ll make quick work of laying them down in the studio. “We work very quickly and we made Some Nights in about a month,” he says. “It just kind of hit us and we went and made it and that’ll be the story for this one and can’t really say too much about it.” (AUDIO IS ABC 1-ON-1)
