Riding high from their recent Grammy nominations, Imagine Dragons has now scored some more well-deserved praise: Billboard has named them the top rock artist of 2013.
The group’s debut album, 2012’s Night Visions, has sold 1.7 million copies since its release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The record peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200 albums chart and snagged the #1 slot on the Alternative Albums chart. Night Visions produced three hit singles: "It's Time, "Demons" and "Radioactive," the latter of which dominated the top spot on several charts, including Hot Rock Songs, Alternative Songs, Alternative Digital Songs, Rock Airplay, Rock Digital Songs, and Rock Streaming Songs.
Billboard's #2 rock artist of the year is The Lumineers, followed by Lorde at #3, American Idol winner Phillip Phillips at #4, and Mumford & Sons at #5.
